How do I go about getting a bunny firstly?

Theres loads of different ways, so you could go to your local pet shop or you could adopt online from animal charities, or you can go online (not advised) to an animal breeder, or even local farms.

Which was there best for you?

Adoption was the best for me, because it gave the bunny a second chance at life. I got my bunny called Blue, by adoption because it kept moving from house to house and I wanted to help. I also got two other bunnies from a local farm near me.

What does a bunny need when you first bring it home?

First, love and attention and the necessary vet check and jabs, to make sure its up to date with all injections and that it is a happy bunny. But you will need a hutch that is fully bunny-proof, as they will chew through anything, including cables, bedding and (when stressed) will try and burrow. they will need a huge amount of food, toys and hay. If they don't have enough hay to nibble on throughout the day their teeth will overgrow which could lead to big health issues.

What does a bunny eat?

So, their diet is 90% hay, 5% nuggets (hay nuggets) and 5% fresh vegetables. But some vegetables are very toxic to rabbits such as iceberg lettuce and any sort of potatoes or anything from the onion family (chives, leeks etc). They have two cups of veggies a day normally, which can include watercress, spinach and rocket and many more. I get Harrington nuggets and Timothy hay. The amount of nuggets they need is dependant on their weight.

What does a bunny have in its hutch?

Other than the unlimited amount of hay and water, their bedding can be sawdust or straw and they can be litter trained but it is very important that it is not cat litter that you use, because if ingested it can clump up in their stomach. Also in their cage/hutch, they have toys such as hard things to help wear down their teeth and claws, and also something that brings them comfort such as a teddy or blanket that isn't harmful if they do chew on it.

How many bunnies can I have?

you can have as many as you want, however it is always best to keep them in pairs, also be wary that if one is a male and another female, that they're neutered so that they don't breed if you don't want them to. Its also important that females get neutered because every female rabbit over the age of three has an 80% chance of getting ovarian cancer if not removed.
