Below are some of the main reasons as to why people travel, and my opinions on them!

To Learn

In some ways this applies to us, however learning can be developed in many different ways, for example, learning about a country and its cultures or learning about yourself and what you can deal with. I think that a big factor in us travelling is to see the differences in cultures and countries and to learn about ourselves and what we can handle and how we solve issues and problems.

Appreciating your Life

Personally this is a huge one for me, you only get one life they say, and I have always known I wanted to explore even if it was just in the area I lived in or the surrounding areas I was in. So to expand my knowledge and to discover new places always intrigued me.

The Adventure

This one is HUGE for me! Probably the most relevant reason as to why I want to travel so much. The planning, the unknown, the new places. One of the main reasons as to why people travel is just being somewhere they haven't been to before, or a place they have desired to explore.

Escape

Not all people travel to escape their lives, but some people do. Travelling gives them a reason to get away from the stress of their usual lives, or to move outside of their daily routine. Some people may have their own reasons as to why they want to 'escape' their typical days.

Relaxation

Most people dream of going somewhere to relax and to 'de-stress'. Depending on where you want to travel, it can be accomplished, however many people including myself enjoy breaks in the city where it can get very busy, but still find relaxation in amongst those stressful times. For me, relaxation isn't the most important part of travelling as I love to keep myself busy at all times.

Building or Growing Relationships

Some people like to travel alone in hope that they will meet new people and interact with other travellers, and some like to get away with a friend or partner to build on it. In my situation the travelling I have planned will help to grow my relationship further and even planning trips away have helped that. Many people without a partner will travel in the hope that they may find someone out there that they can connect well with.

Languages

Lots of people learning a language or wanting to learn a language travel to that area to develop their skills in language or to learn whilst they explore. I think that if you are wanting or are learning a certain language, that travelling to that country and different areas of it, will help develop certain skills and techniques involved with it.

Helps you 'Dream'

Now, this is very important to me. Some people say that travelling helps you to dream bigger, and I certainly agree with it! Since travelling away, I've been able to think of many new places I would like to see, and new locations to aim towards exploring in the future. There are certain places that I have always wanted to travel to, and places that I want to uncover since being away from home.

New Surroundings

Ofcourse, travelling will mean discovering new places but also help you to tick off locations and attractions off your bucket list. This is one of the most important factors as people often buy flights, or just travel to a country because of a certain attraction. For example, many people travel to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, or London to see Big Ben.

Finally, FOOD!

Lastly, a huge benefit of travelling is the fact that you can try foods from many different cultures. Every continent, country, province and city has its own 'language' of flavours and spices. There are many foods that you just wouldn't try or be able to eat if you weren't in a certain place, meaning there are so may foods the world has to offer that you wouldn't be exposed to at home.
